These two picks can also greatly compliment your makeup. However, I wanted to introduce thess two products as a way to simplify your routine for spring and summer 2025, whether you wear makeup or not! I understand why the idea of permanent makeup can seem like it is the answer to all your makeup and time challenges. Applying makeup every day can sometimes feel like a chore, but you still want to look polished and put-together. I think that is why lash extensions have continued to be popular for so long. I was one of the first people I knew to get permanent brows. What I did not realize was that they are not permanent. And that goes for all permanent makeup. the colour can change and move over time, and our faces change! I think short term, when they are freshly done, or freshly touched up the first couple times, most are happy with the results.  No one informed me of the ingredients that go into tattoos and I did not ask. The thing with permanent makeup too is it can sometimes look a little harsh and make one look older. The same goes for lashes. I wore dramatic false lashes when I was younger to look older.  I still like to wear them for photographs or special events but I prefer my  own natural lashes most of the time now, curled with mascara of course. If someone is wearing dramatic false lashes or lash extensions and makeup colours are not added for balance, it can create a more harsh look in my opinion. Everyone has their own style, but just like opting for catapillar-looking lashes and no makeup, dramatic brows and no makeup can look a little unbalanced. The great thing about makeup is that it can be easily washed off. A trend that is tattooed on or glued on is not as easy to remove and its a more long term financial commitment too. So I wanted to share 2 products as alternatives that will make your morning routine short and sweet if needed!

1. caramel tan for face

The first one is my newest caramel tan shade – extra extra light. You may think, if a sunless tanning shade is called extra extra light, is it even a tan? Good point! And you are correct, it isn’t really a tan, it just makes your skin tone a touch more golden and less blue’green. Because I do not use DHA, the main ingredient in sunless tanning formulas, you do not have to worry about that all-too-common rust-orange tone. This is something to keep in mind when you apply my caramel tan formula. DHA takes only several hours to darken. My formula is unique as it is a specific sugar from a raspberry. The colour starts to show within 12-24 hours on the face and takes a little longer if you are applying it to your body. I do not use petroleum-based dyes and ammonia-based caramel colouring, nor do I add gums, citric acid, alcohol, and sunthetic fragrance. You can even choose your base so that it is the right texture + the purest cold-pressed oil medley for the most customized, mourishing face moisturizer and subtle sunless colour tint in one! The colour will last a few days on the face. Because we wash and exfoliate our faces more than our bodies, it will not last two weeks like it does on the body.

I recommend doing a thorough exfoliation with my glacial clay cleanser or your favourite mild exfoliant once a week before your first application of application the extra extra light. I will then do an application of extra extra light to my face every couple days or when I notice my colour fading. It is also easy to touch up certain areas to maintain a smooth look. If you notice that there is a spot where there is a little too much colour, a mild exfoliant or exfoliating glove will tone it down easily. You apply it just like you would apply your face moisturizer. Because the colour that develops is so sheer, you really can’t do it wrong unless you leave a big blob somewhere. If you are applying makeup over, give it 10-15 to absorb.

Unless your skin tone is medium or darker, extra extra light will work best for the face. If I was to compare the colour of extra extra light to one of my foundation shades, I would say it is a very sheer warm agave tone. It looks so incredibly natural on fair skin tones that you will forget it is my caramel tan until it starts to wear off! Even though I used the darkest shade of caramel tan for my body (extra dark) I use extra extra light for my face. If you are burnt almond or raw agave you could try extra light and if you are warm agave you could try light. If the colour looks uneven in certain places on the face, that is a sign you need to go a shade lighter. There are zero irritating ingredients so I go over my eyebrows, eyelids, and around my ears, as well as blending into my hairline. You will notice you don’t get that build-up of colour around the perimeter of your face like with DHA-based formulas. The quality of each ingredient that goes into this freshly handcrafted formula is the secret behind the smooth, long-lasting colour it creates!

2. herbal brow tint

The other product I recommend is my herbal brow tint. It is toxin-free and lasts at least two weeks. It is easy to apply to brows and the colour develops within 4 minutes. It also lightly stains the skin under your brow hairs so your brows will look lush and healthy. This tint will cover those pesky greys as well. I have a full list of instructions whcih are included with the herbal brow kit but the process is so easy! You can also create faux freckles with my herbal tint formula using my tiny eraser brush or the eyes have it brush. To keep both the caramel tan colour and brow tint from fading, I recommend using my cacao + oat balm to milk face cleanser as it is soap free and less drying to skin.
