phosphatidylcholine is a-m-a-z-i-n-g! seriously, how much time do you have? this is the miracle molecule of cell function. a major constituent of cell membranes, vital to every cell of the human body. it depletes as a person ages. this is why elderly people look ‘elderly’. the lack of phosphatidylcholine causes skin to lose suppleness. this super substance rebuilds and maintains organs in the human body and it is one of the most important supplements that a person can take to combat aging and to extend life. in addition to its role in the cell membrane, its component choline is necessary for transporting fat to your mitochondria (the powerhouse of your cells). the mitochondria are the bacteria inside of your cells that produce atp, the energy currency of your body. this means that, in addition to helping to keep your cell membranes healthy, phosphatidylcholine also directly encourages fat burning. it even has a positive effect on the production of growth hormones. also, not only is it an effective brain booster and cognitive enhancer, but phosphatidylcholine benefits are thought to have long-term effects on your neurological system. phosphatidylcholine is a macronutrient that is important for healthy liver function, normal brain development, nerve function, muscle movement, supporting energy levels and maintaining a healthy metabolism. phosphatidylcholine plays a part in several important processes within the body that are carried out hundreds of times, every single day. what is phosphatidylcholine most beneficial for? it helps in the process of methylation, which is used to create dna, for nerve signaling, and for detoxification. it’s also important for the functioning of a key neurotransmitter called acetylcholine, which similarly helps nerves to communicate and muscles to move, acts as an anti-aging neurotransmitter, and performs other basic processes.

phosphatidylserine presents health benefits that cover several issues from memory enhancement and ADHD management to depression and improved physical performance. The most crucial function phosphatidylserine performs as a brain supplement is to provide structural support for brain cells. Not only does it help keep structural integrity intact, but it also aids their flexibility and fluidity. Phosphatidylserine may also signal for dopamine release, the neurotransmitter linked to feelings of motivation and mind-body coordination. Plus, phosphatidylserine manages neurotransmitters and receptors. It acts in a coordinating capacity to store, release, and oversee key brain chemicals and their corresponding receptors that affect memory, mood, and new learning. PS has also been considered a treatment for all forms of dementia, such as Parkinson’s disease, given its ability to increase dopamine in the system. ADHD is typically identified in childhood, but it can also affect adults. Once again, phosphatidylserine can help to boost mental focus, mood, memory, and cognition by relieving stress through balancing hormones.

sodium deoxycholate has the ability to decrease body fat in stubborn areas but it is also a wonderful remedy as a bile builder for deficient or low quality bile as a cruelty-free alternative to bovine bile supplements. It is the main ingredient in lipodissolve mesotherapy and kybella treatments, an alternative to liposuction. It has been used for years to treat other conditions such as tendonitis, tendon calcification, dental procedures, cancer, cervicobrachialgia (pain in the neck radiating to the arm, due to compression of nerve roots of the cervical spinal cord), arthritis, lymphedema (is a condition of localized swelling caused by a compromised lymphatic system), and venous stasis (inflammation of the skin in the lower legs). This ingredient has also become popular in the skincare industry as a natural alternative to botox.

DMSO (Dimethyl sulfoxide) acts as a carrier for other substances or drugs and it also potentiates their effect. DMSO applied to one area often leads to pain relief in some other location due to its systemic effect. It is an effective pain killer, blocking nerve conduction fibers that produce pain. It reduces inflammation and swelling by reducing inflammatory chemicals. It improves blood supply to an area of injury by dilating blood vessels and increasing delivery of oxygen and by reducing blood platelet stickiness. It stimulates healing, which is a key to its usefulness in any condition. It is among the most potent free radical scavengers known to man, if not the most potent one.

methylene blue boost benefits

methylene blue in the bio-available form is an old and very safe treatment. It is not as old as the rest of this recipe but it has been used for over one hundred and fifty years. It provides healing and reverses disease and aging at the cellular level. It greatly benefits the body as a nitric oxide inhibitor and an estrogen antagonist. By reducing nitric oxide and estrogen, thyroid function is increased, and the body benefits from increased metabolic rate and overall energy production. “Methylene blue (MB), a century-old drug first synthesized in 1876, has been used in clinical medicine for the treatment of diverse ailments, e.g. methemoglobinemia, malaria, vasoplegia, septic shock, cancer chemotherapy, and Alzheimer’s disease.”

effects on hormones:
-inhibits prolactin
-inhibits estrogen
-increases thyroid hormone and lowers TSH
-increases testosterone

methylene blue benefits the skin by acting as an alternative to retinol, without the downtime, and to promote greater collagen production. It is possible to skip the stage where skin deteriorates before improving. The two most notable results were that skin held more water and grew thicker, both of which are characteristics of younger skin.

They say that depression is caused by chemical imbalances in the brain. That’s true, sort of. I mean, it begs the question, what causes the chemical imbalance in the brain? If you look at research on depression which analyses other symptoms you find that aside from feeling down, people with depression always have very low energy. Depression and the associated change in brain hormones are the brain’s expression of lack of energy. And a number of experiments have shown that energy boosting supplements are far more effective at treating depression than some common (risky) treatments.

This human research was carried out at University Department of Psychiatry, Ninewells Hospital and Medical School, and the Royal Dundee Liff Hospital in Dundee, Scotland. The paper was published in Biological Psychiatry. This research recruited 35 people suffering from severe depression. The participants were split into two different groups. One group was given supplemental methylene blue. The other group received an inactive placebo. Methylene blue is one of the oldest treatments. It is also commonly used as a dye in scientific research. Methylene blue has many different effects on the body — one of the most important is boosting energy production in the cell. The degree of depression was assessed by a questionnaire called the Hamilton rating scale — a standard in psychiatry. “At the start of the trial, all patients had a score on the Hamilton Rating Scale greater than 18, there was no significant difference between the two groups on any rating.” Higher scores on the Hamilton scale mean a more extreme form of depression. And scores above 18 points are classified as severe. There were no changes in the placebo group over the course of the three week trial period. But there was improvement in those taking supplemental methylene blue.

“Patients receiving methylene blue showed marked improvement from day 7.” The researchers saw great improvements on the Hamilton scale. They also looked at a number of other questionnaires used to assess the degree of depression. After three weeks of methylene blue there were significant improvements on every scale of depression used. “Methylene blue showed marked improvement at day 14 on the Montgomery-Asberg Scale, and on all 4 scales by 2 1 days.” Methylene blue helps cells to produce more energy — something which is deficient in people with depression. While methylene blue is remarkably safe on its own — it could cause reactions with other psychiatric treatments.

Some antibiotics are quite safe. But many modern antibiotics can cause very severe health problems. On top of this, the widespread use of antibiotics in recent decades has led to antibiotic resistant bacteria. For example, the MRSA family of bacteria are resistant to antibiotics. Because of this, these bacteria are a major problem in hospitals, spreading infections which are impossible to treat with antibiotics.

Antibiotic-resistant bacteria mainly cause problems in the lungs and on the surface of the body – in wounds. “Bacterial resistance is a problem during the process of healing infected wounds.” But more and more research is showing that a treatment called photodynamic therapy is very effective at killing these potentially life-threatening bacteria.

Photodynamic therapy has a broad-spectral antibacterial activity and non-selective action, which makes it possible to deal with antibiotic resistance.” Photodynamic therapy involves the use of chemical sensitizers and a light source. The combination of these two elements causes chemical reactions which kill bacteria. Numerous different substances have been used as chemical sensitisers. This one of these is methylene blue – now mostly used as a dye – but methylene blue is one of the oldest patented medicines. In low doses, methylene blue is beneficial, unlike some other sensitisers. “The effect of methylene blue photodynamic therapy on infected wounds remains somewhat unclear. So we evaluated the safety and efficacy of methylene blue photodynamic therapy on infected wounds.” The researchers carried out their experiments in 5 patients with wound infections.

“5 patients with infected wounds were included, all of them treated with methylene blue photodynamic therapy.” The treatment involved applying methylene blue to the skin before shining a light onto the infected area. The researchers used a red light with only 0.1 Watt of light power. This weak red light produces no sensation on the skin. You would not know it was shining on you unless you saw it. The doctors tailored the treatment according to the size of the wound, the degree of infection, and how long it took to heal. It only took an average of 4 treatments to cure the infection. “After an average of 4 sessions, infected wounds of all the patients were healed.” The researchers also observed a remarkable healing effect on the skin tissue. The infection left less scarring and pitting than was expected. “The treatment also showed an excellent cosmetic effect.” Both elements of this treatment, methylene blue and red light are used individually for wound healing and skin health. So it’s no great surprise that there was far less scarring than would otherwise be expected. There were no re-infections over the next few months either. “Over a follow-up period of 3 to 12 months, there were no recurrences and no side-effects.” The treatment was effective at curing infected wounds and accelerated the recovery of the affected tissue.

In the study by Biju et al., oral supplementation with low-dose Methylene Blue (MB) was shown to greatly improve the characteristics of PD in a mouse model. “Oral delivery of low-dose MB significantly ameliorated MPTP/p-induced deficits in motor coordination, as well as degeneration of tyrosine hydroxylase (TH)-positive neurons of the substantia nigra and TH-positive terminals in the striatum. Importantly, olfactory dysfunction was ameliorated by MB treatment, whereas this benefit is not observed with currently available anti-Parkinsonian ‘treatments.’ These results indicate that low-dose MB is a promising neuroprotective intervention for both motor and non-motor features of PD.” Considering MB has such a long safety record, it seems reasonable to experiment with it in the case of various movement disorders like RLS, teeth grinding, and PD. In many cases, the progression of the disease states is in the early stages… Something like Methylene Blue, which enhances energy at the cellular level and has definite neuroprotective benefits, seems like a sound choice for prevention and therapeutic effect.

Methylene blue is on the World Health Organization’s list of essential medicines. And for good reason. Scientists are now finding out how it can help us with memory, focus, and dementia. Attention deficit is the inability to focus. And it’s a symptom of Parkinson’s disease. The scientists caused Parkinson’s disease symptoms in rodents by using a neurotoxin that destroys the dopaminergic neurons in the brain. They not only recreated the symptoms of Parkinson’s. They did it through a mechanism that is known to occur in Parkinson’s (destroying the dopaminergic neurons). This means it might be protective against the cause of damage in Parkinson’s brains. In addition, methylene blue improved the degree of attention deficit in the rodents affected by the toxin. “Methylene blue significantly improved attention…” It’s very likely that this simple substance that’s been around known for over 100 years could help with Parkinson’s symptoms – by acting on the mechanisms that cause Parkinson’s. Alzheimer’s disease patients could probably benefit from methylene blue too because both conditions have similar mechanisms and symptoms. In addition to attention deficit, memory impairment is a huge problem in dementias. Methylene blue protected the rodents from damage to the dopamine neurons in the brain.

This study at the University of Texas at Austin looked at the effect of methylene blue on memory retention in rats. They had two groups of rats, gave one group methylene blue, and tested their memory retention. The normal rats had a memory retention rate of 31%. But rats treated with methylene blue had a memory retention rate of 66%. That’s amazing. Methylene blue is becoming a popular mind-enhancing supplement because of its effect on memory and focus (among other things.)

They found that 24 hours after rodents were dosed with methylene blue they had a 30% increase in cytochrome c oxidase in their brains. Cytochrome c oxidase is one of the keys to energetic metabolism. It is located within the cell’s mitochondrial engine and is necessary for efficient energy generation in the brain. “Methylene blue enhances memory by increasing brain energy…” Everything depends on energy. Methylene blue increases the brain’s ability to generate energy and that coincides with increased memory and focus! Scientists at the Department of Neuroscience at Scranton University took an in-depth look at the effect methylene blue has on the human brain. This paper reviewed the scientific research on methylene blue and focused on Alzheimer’s disease, methylene blue, and our cells’ energy-producing engine. The scientists concluded that methylene blue does, in fact, improve a number of the processes that fail in Alzheimer’s disease…and that methylene blue shows promise in delaying the onset of Alzheimer’s.

Methylene blue increases our ability to produce energy too. It’s relevant in the brain and everywhere else in the body too. Methylene blue is one of the safest substances out there (but there are risks with everything and you should speak to your doctor before using a new supplement). When energy fails we fall apart. We must keep things flowing!

The many benefits of methylene blue are due to it increasing metabolism and lowering nitric oxide. These two effects help to accelerate recovery from any sort of damage – including burns. When body tissue is exposed to extremely high temperatures, it causes chemical changes in the tissue. Burns cause immediate damage to the skin, but there is also a lot of damage which occurs at a later point…caused by chemicals released by the body. One of these harmful chemicals is called peroxynitrite, and it is increased by nitric oxide. When you get burned your body produces too much nitric oxide…This leads to high peroxynitrite, which causes much of the damage associated with burns. “Following burns, increased nitric oxide combines with superoxide onion forming peroxynitrite.” This chemical reaction is important not just in burns but in almost every chronic disease. “Peroxynitrite generation represents a crucial pathogenic mechanism in conditions such as stroke, myocardial infarction, chronic heart failure, diabetes, circulatory shock, chronic inflammatory diseases, cancer, and neurodegenerative disorders.” So it makes sense that lowering nitric oxide could limit damage caused by burns. Methylene blue, the oldest synthetic treatment, is remarkably effective at blocking nitric oxide – and it’s very safe at low doses. “Methylene blue has nitric oxide blocking effects.” So it makes sense to see whether methylene blue could help with recovery from burns.

The epithelium is the top layer of skin. Re-epithelialization is the regrowth of this top layer of skin – it is the final stage of recovery. The top layer of skin regrew 2 to 3 times quicker with methylene blue. “Re-epithelialization skin areas were higher in both methylene blue treated groups.” The study shows the remarkable regenerative effect of this old medicine. An effect which can be attributed to it lowering peroxynitrite AND the fact that methylene blue helps cells to produce more energy. Methylene blue can substitute for oxygen in the process of energy creation in the cell – something critical to recovery in times of stress. More energy and lower nitric oxide accelerates recovery.

Doug had paper-thin skin. He was 99 years old and still doing crosswords every day…but he would regularly get open sores on his legs that were hard to treat and took a really long time to heal. As we age, our skin gets thinner, less elastic, and it’s not as able to recover easily. Most of us want to live a long time, but only if we can do it without debilitating diseases along with it. And keeping your skin healthy as you age is a key component to being able to live a healthier life into your golden years. Science is now showing that a therapeutic treatment that’s been used for hundreds of years has huge potential for skincare and for making aging skin young again. It’s a super-exciting development. Aging skin is caused in large part by oxidative stress. “Oxidative stress is the major cause of skin aging that includes wrinkles, pigmentation, and weakened wound healing ability.”

And as skin ages, it loses elasticity and strength. This can leave us susceptible to not only wrinkles but to being injured more easily and to longer healing times. So it makes sense to try to keep your skin as strong as possible for as long as possible. “Skin is the largest and the most visible organ of the human body. Aged skin is biologically characterized by the flattening of the dermal-epidermal junction and a general atrophy of the extracellular matrix (ECM) with disorganized and reduced collagen and elastin.”

This study looked at methylene blue (MB) to see if it could treat aging skin…Many skin treatments can reduce the signs of aging, but they don’t actually slow or reverse the aging process. But MB does! “…these results indicated that MB treatment is capable of reducing and/or reversing aging phenotypes in old skin fibroblasts.”

One of the hallmarks of aging is the breakdown of mitochondria, the tiny organs inside of each cell that are responsible for respiration and energy. Methylene blue not only restores the mitochondria and repairs its break down…but it also promotes cellular integrity all throughout your body. It even restores brain function and improves strength!  “METHYLENE BLUE IS AN EFFECTIVE AGENT TO DELAY CELLULAR SENESCENCE AT NANOMOLAR CONCENTRATION AND PREVENT AGE-RELATED DECLINE IN COGNITIVE FUNCTION AND GRIP STRENGTH…” In other words, methylene blue is known to reverse the effects of aging in the cell, restore brain function, and even improve strength.

Hearing loss isn’t just caused by loud noises or freak accidents with a Q-tip. There are actually metabolic reasons why you may suddenly suffer hearing loss. And that’s why methylene blue is so powerful — it can stimulate the mitochondria and treat hearing loss naturally. A lot of people develop hearing loss from concerts or from workplace noise with inadequate ear protection. But did you ever notice that other people who may be standing right next to those who develop hearing loss have no problems whatsoever? Extremely loud noises are a trigger for hearing loss — but they’re not the only factor. And it’s not genetics which determines who is more susceptible to this type of hearing loss. The ability of your mitochondria to produce energy could determine whether or not your hearing becomes damaged.

The protective effect of energy is seen all throughout the body — not just in the inner ear. The animal experiments were carried out at Ajou University School of Medicine, Suwon, Korea. The findings were published in the journal Cell Death and Disease. Your body contains vast amounts of tiny biochemical engines called mitochondria. These mitochondria use fats and sugars to generate energy. But there are numerous different ways that mitochondria can produce energy — some more efficient than others. Methylene blue is one of the oldest chemical medicines. One of the things that it does is help mitochondria to produce energy in an extremely efficient manner. A little methylene blue can lead to a massive increase in energy production. This increase in energy production helps the body to protect all of its functions.

In simple terms, hearing tests showed that methylene blue had a number of protective actions against hearing loss. During hearing loss there is damage to the inner ear. We lose microscopic hairs inside a part of the inner ear called the cochlea. Methylene blue limited the structural damage caused by loud noise to the inner ear. “Methylene blue reduced inner ear cell death in the cochlea.” The researchers believe that methylene blue partly acts by reducing oxidative stress — something which can occur when the body is stressed but energy is limited. “The overproduction of reactive oxygen species contributes to noise induced hearing loss. Methylene blue reduced reactive oxygen species after noise exposure.”

Methylene blue prevented cell death in the inner ear which would otherwise be triggered by these chemicals which damage hearing. “Methylene blue protected against rotenone and antimycin A chemically induced cell death.” The researchers also investigated the fundamental function of methylene blue – energy production.

The final step of efficient energy production takes place in a part of the mitochondria called complex five. Impairment of complex five will cripple your energy production — leaving you open to hearing loss and any other type of damage to the body. Exposure to extremely loud noises causes harm to complex five — but this was prevented by methylene blue. “Methylene blue effectively attenuated the noise-induced impairment of complex five in the cochlea.” The fundamental role of methylene blue is in protecting energy production when the body is under stress. This allows the body to shield and repair the inner ear and other parts of the body. Improving your overall energy production can protect all aspects of your health throughout your life.

As the research train rolls on, scientists discover more and more uses for methylene blue that can benefit many disease pathologies safely and effectively. The world is catching on to the fact that all diseases are metabolic in nature, and that methylene blue selectively targets cells and tissues that have dysfunctional metabolism. It’s only a matter of time before methylene blue is recognized as one of the most potent medicines ever discovered.

NAD+ boost benefits

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) is a coenzyme present in almost all cells in your body. Its main purpose is to fuel metabolic reactions forward, similar to gas in your car. Without NAD+, your cells won’t be able to metabolize carbohydrates, fats and amino acids. NAD+ also plays a significant role in gene expression linked to age-related diseases. Normal aging is accompanied by a noticeable increase in fatigue and loss of motivation. The tiredness we outwardly feel reflects inward impairment of cellular functions critical to sustaining life.

NAD+ is the term used in the scientific literature to describe a cellular compound called nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide.

NAD+ is found in every cell in the body and is essential to life. NAD+ enables the transfer of energy from the foods we eat to vital cell functions. It is also required to “turn off” genes that accelerate degenerative aging processes.

As NAD+ levels decline, mitochondrial function is impaired, resulting in fewer mitochondria surviving. This vicious cycle of mitochondrial depletion results in many of the physical symptoms of aging.

The age-related decrease in NAD+ causes defects in both energy- and gene-related functions to accumulate. These defects feed on one another to produce the disorders we typically identify as aging.10 The consequences of a decline in NAD+ levels and subsequent reduction in SIRT 1 and SIRT 3 enzymes are:

  • Neurodegeneration in the brain,10,27,28
  • Vascular inflammation, producing damage to blood vessels that can result in stroke or heart attack, 27,29,30
  • Increased fat storage in the liver, which can lead to nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD),31-33
  • Increased fat production and deposition in white adipose tissue, the primary fat storage form found in dangerous belly fat,34,35
  • Insulin resistance, preventing cells from appropriately removing glucose from blood, producing higher blood sugar levels and leading directly to metabolic syndrome,30,36,37
  • Fatigue, loss of muscle strength, and fatty infiltration of muscles, resulting in reduced fatty acid oxidation (“burning”), thereby depriving muscles of their normal sources of energy.38,39

To avoid these degenerative processes, it is essential that steps be taken to optimize the amount of NAD+ in our bodies.

By increasing intracellular NAD+ levels, age-related mitochondrial dysfunction can be reversed.5 One of the ways to accomplish this is by engaging in major calorie restriction, which has been proven to raise NAD+ levels and in experimental organisms tested to date, to extend life span.5,25 But most people find significant calorie restriction to be nearly impossible in practice.

application

Dosage: 1/4-1/2tsp dose transdermal applications can be applied on stomach area, sides, or lower back or if are wanting to increase the methylene blue benefits with red light therapy, you can apply this dose anywhere to the body then hold a red light over the veins on the inside of one wrist for about 30 minutes. You can use this tool which has red light therapy as part of the treatment.

Time of application: the best time is upon waking on an empty stomach or right before bed on an empty stomach. Do not double up on doses if you miss one. You will notice a slight tingling or a slight pinch. This is normal and will subside after a few minutes as the ingredients fully absorb. Avoid any tight clothing on the area while the product is absorbing (approx 5-10 minutes) to avoid rubbing off the application before it can fully absorb.

Increasing dosage: every individual is unique. Because this formula encourages bile production, it creates a slow detox or herx effect. More is not necessarily better. You only want to support the body in doing what it is naturally designed to do. If you feel herx, or detox-like symptoms which are uncomfortable, wait two or more days before applying another daily dose decrease the dosage.

Always consult your physician before starting a new supplement. This supplement is not recommended if you are pregnant or breast feeding. If you are on an SSRI which is a type of antidepressant, it is recommended to not take the SSRI at the same time as methylene blue supplementation. Also, if you have seratonin syndrome, it is recommended to avoid methylene blue.

Because of the heightened combined healing of photodynamic therapy and application of methylene blue together, this product pair well with the 6-in-1 light therapy device. The best supplements to pair with supernatural salt is the supernatural binder with added digestive bitters slow cleanse boost.
