Upon receiving your CUSTOM CACAO TAN, make sure you store it in the fridge to keep the active ingredients potent. Because this unique tanning butter is not a sunless tanner which tints your skin from the outside, it is not as important to apply a generous, even layer of CUSTOM CACAO TAN all over. You also do not need to cover every inch of your body. Because this is like taking a tanning pill except better, you are tanning from the inside. You will even be able to fade tan lines if you are preparing for a special event. APPLY SPARINGLY, so that melatonin levels can slowly build. A little goes a very long way because it melts into the skin just like coconut oil. After a shower and good exfoliation is the best time to apply it as it will absorb well into the skin. Apply to bare, dry skin. Do not forget to apply your usual sun protection over top after you have allowed it to absorb for about 10 minutes. Short bursts of sun (approx 5-10 minutes) will accelerate your growing tan. Apply every other day while building your tan. To maintain your tan, apply once a week.
