black cohosh root: binds to your body’s opioid receptors, giving it a painkilling effect. Today, it’s sometimes used to reduce the muscle aches and body pains associated with menopause, peri-menopause and post-menopause. Both traditional Chinese medicine and Western herbal tradition have long used black cohosh to reduce pain and calm the nervous system. North American Indigenous peoples have also long used black cohosh to treat the pain associated with periods, childbirth and menopause symptoms. And in the 20th century, some physicians began using black cohosh for pain associated with gynecological disorders. Today this root is a popular treatment for reducing hot flashes which are due in part to estrogen withdrawal, are the most common complaint during menopause, impacting up to 80% of women.
red raspberry leaf: includes vitamins and minerals such as vitamins A, B6, C, E, potassium, zinc, phosphorus, and calcium. Studies have shown that raspberry leaf can act as a relaxant in the gastrointestinal tract. This can result in reduced cramping during menstruation. Other raspberry leaf benefits include combating anemia from its iron content. This is important for a woman’s cycle, but especially if you have more frequent or heavy bleeds. Many iron supplements can cause constipation and are not readily absorbed.
chasteberry (vitex): reduces uterine fibroids, increases fertility in women, protects the prostate of men, naturally treats endometriosis, relieves pms and menopausal symptoms, and clears acne by balancing the body’s hormones.
dong quai: is also known as ‘female ginseng’ and is in the same family as carrots, celery, and parsley. It’s benefits include:
DMSO: this is one of my favourite compounds to work with! DMSO can help with a number of different issues and conditions. This includes all of the following:
DIM: Cruciferous vegetables such as brussels sprouts, cauliflower, garden cress, mustard greens, radishes, turnip, and kale contain a compound called indole-3-carbinol. When indole-3-carbinol mixes with your stomach acid, it creates a chemical reaction that converts it to Diindolylmethane (DIM). In order for estrogen to be metabolized by the body, it must be combined with oxygen as part of aerobic metabolism. Diindolylmethane helps to metabolize ‘good estrogen’ in the body while subsequently decreasing ‘bad estrogen’. ’Good estrogen’ has the ability to protect the heart and brain with antioxidant activity, promote cell growth, and rid the body of damaged cells. Thus promoting ‘good estrogen vs. bad estrogen’ ratios.
DIM combats premature aging in men and women because DIM is an aromatase inhibitor. Aromatase is an enzyme that converts testosterone to estrogen. Slowing down the conversion of testosterone to estrogen can free up some of your testosterone, maintain better estrogen levels, and balance out your hormones. Diindolylmethane (DIM) can help the body detect the inflamed cells and eliminate them, replacing them with healthy cells thus resulting in slowing of the aging process. Diindolylmethane (DIM) has powerful anti-inflammatory properties. Diindolylmethane (DIM) directs the body to produce cancer preventing chemicals like 2-hydroxy estrogens which have powerful anti-inflammatory properties. It also prevents the formation of inflammatory enzymes. Among the many factors provoking inflammation are, lack of exercise and high carbohydrate diets. Diindolylmethane (DIM), taken as a supplement can help prevent the accumulation of toxins acquired from pesticide rich food, plastics and other harmful chemicals. This is done by DIM acting as a catalyst for the elimination of such toxins from the body. Diindolylmethane (DIM) supplements can also help support antioxidant enzymes and suppress the activity of inflammatory receptors in body tissues. It has also been found that Diindolylmethane (DIM) prevents inflammation causing cytokine release from cells called macrophages in the body, again reducing inflammation and aging. It also acts to prevent diseases in the prostate, breast and uterus by its protective estrogenic effects.
suggested use: apply one patch to clean, dry skin once every three days. don’t continually wear patches in the same place. apply one patch to arms, back, stomach, and thighs. try to prevent patch from becoming wet. do not re-use patches. depending on your age and your body you may find that application of one or two patches a week is enough to increase and replenish your body’s hgh stores. it is best to consult your physician before using this product if you are taking any medications or are under a physician’s care for a medical condition. this product is latex, soy, and gluten free.
storage: store patches in aluminum packaging at room temperature away from excessive heat and moisture. do not store in the bathroom.
what happens when you swallow your supplements:
when you swallow a dietary supplement pill, it travels to your stomach, where the pill is immediately introduced to a powerful mix of digestive acids. depending on what other foods you’ve eaten, the supplements in you stomach remain there for up to 4 hours as part of the normal digestive process. during this process the supplements in the stomach continue to be degraded by powerful digestive stomach acids.
after approximately 4 hours, the remaining supplements’ nutrient value starts its journey into the small intestinal tract where it will be absorbed into the bloodstream and delivered throughout the body. studies have shown that on the average, as little as 2% of the original dietary supplement taken survives the digestive process and is absorbed by the body, dramatically reducing the dosage originally taken and its resulting effectiveness.
with a transdermal patch:
as soon as a patch is applied to the skin, body-heat activates the supplement formula and the nutrients begin to transit through the skin into the small blood vessels called capillaries that are plentiful under the skin. this is direct delivery of nutrients to the bloodstream or what is called transdermal delivery because nutrients are absorbed directly through pores in the derma (skin).
because the nutrient delivery process is done over a period of many hours while a patch is worn, we call this ‘time-release delivery’.
-maximum dosage absorbtion – patches allow you to absorb up to 10 times the dosage that comparable orally taken supplements deliver.
-patches release nutritional supplement ingredients directly into the bloodstream, bypassng the harsh acidic environment of the stomach and digestive tract that destroys most of the original nutrient value of supplements taken orally.
-patches deliver their nutritional supplement load directly to the bloodstream the moment a patch is applied to the skin, versus up to 4 hours with supplements taken orally that must pass through the stomach and digestive system.
-incredible convenience – there is nothing easier than applying a patch before bedtime or in the morning after showering, instead of having to remember to take multiple pills day after day.
