benefits
ORGANIC ALOE JUICE is wonderful for speeding up healing and cellular turnover. It is antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory. It also contains POLYSACCHARIDES which stimulate the growth of new cells.
RAW COCONUT BUTTERÂ allows for easy absorption through the skin, giving it a soft, smooth texture for mineral application. This unique plant oil also contains LAURIC ACID which is nature’s treatment for blemishes and adult acne. The only other source of LAURIC ACID is in breast milk.
COLD-PRESSED RED RASPBERRY SEED OIL purifies and tightens skin, has a light, non-greasy feel. and contains a huge dose of vitamin e which helps to regulate sebum. the berries are grown locally in the pacific northwest and the oil is pressed in small batches throughout the year to ensure no oil is older than 3 months from the press date. the oil is extracted using a cold-pressing process so that no oxidation occurs. it naturally contains 28-50spf naturally to protect skin from the sun and other environmental elements.
MYRICA FRUIT TALLOW this superfruit is mostly used in herbal medicines due to the presence of compounds like phenols, flavonoids, tannins, and triterpenes. the essential oils of the fruit of MYRICA GALE have been shown to exhibit anti-fungal activity against some food borne fungus. there are also reports of its antioxidant effect due to high levels of anthocyanins. the fruit’s tallow is found on the small grey-green berries. depending on the species, the berry can contain up to 30% tallow; these surface lipids are 10 fold more abundant than any other plant species. the tallow doesn’t accumulate on the fruit proper, instead it gathers on the bay berry knobs on the outer skin (exocarp). its fatty acid profile indicates that it is not a wax, but more of a hard butter or vegetable ‘tallow’.
COLD-PRESSED HEMP OIL Certified Organic from Saskatchewan, Canada is an excellent source of Omega-3 and Omega-6 essential fatty acids. Hemp contains an ideal 1:3 ratio Omega-3 to Omega-6, determined to be the optimum requirement for long-term healthy human nutrition. It also contains, in lesser amounts, GLA, oelic acid and steriodonic acid. This combination of essential fatty acids is unique amongst edible seed oils. Hemp seed oil also provides an adequate supply of antioxidants (Vitamin E), carotene (precursor to Vitamin A), phytosterols, phospholipids and a number of minerals including calcium, magnesium, sulfur, potassium, phosphorus, along with modest amounts of iron and zinc. Hemp seed oil also provides a good source of chlorophyll.
ORGANIC Canadian MAPLE SYRUP had a greater enzyme-inhibiting effect compared to several other healthy plant foods such as berries. It contains more than 54 health enhancing compounds, including minerals such as manganese, potassium, zinc, calcium, and skin-healthy vitamins A and B – all of which provide serious doses of anti-cancer and antibacterial properties. The chemical properties of maple syrup attracts and retains the moisture in the air nearby via absorption, drawing water vapor into and beneath the skin’s surface.
PHYTOCIDE BLACK CURRENT POWDER is an extract rich in phytochemicals that not only inhibits microbial growth, but also has anti-inflammatory benefits. Useful in an array of aqueous systems and emulsions specifically designed for sensitive skin, PhytoCide Black Currant Powder is an effective antimicrobial that can also act to preserve systems. This incorporation will either reduce the level of traditional preservatives being used or help create a blend of natural antimicrobials. Additionally the anti-inflammatory properties of the black currant may help quell mild irritation associated with both sensitive and problem skin.
application
I was inspired to create a facial moisturizer that also multitasked as a silicone-free, fragrance-free, glycerin-free, water-free makeup primer for my clients. I think this is the product I have found the most need for. I love the properties of pure plant butters but sometimes on the face as a stand-alone ingredient, a plant butter can tend to feel a little heavy and greasy. This is a lighter version and works equally well for all skin types. The ingredients truly nurture and nourish and, most importantly, this blend does not contain ingredients that dry or irritate skin (no silicones, polysorbates, or glycerin). If you love my dewy cream and mango balm, you will loooove this texture! Upon cleansing with my Glacial Clay Cleanser, apply a dime sized amount to face and massage in gently in an upwards motion to encourage circulation and restore a youthful glow. For extra-rich hydration and natural full spectrum spf, layer over my raspberry elixir. For a glowy, post-facial sheen tap onto cheekbones over makeup!
