raw coconut butter – a premium quality food grade product made from organic fresh coconuts. MOST COCONUT OIL ON THE MARKET IS HEATED. If coconut oil tastes and smells like coconut it is probably heated. Heating caramelizes the sugars which makes it smell attractive but much of it’s goodness is lost.

The process for making virgin coconut oil involves pressing the fruit via one of several different methods. Cold-pressed uses no heat when pressing the fruit, which allows it to hold onto more of its nutrient density. Organic coconut oil means it’s grown without the use of synthetic pesticides or other icky toxins.

It improves barrier function.

Not only is this oil easily absorbed, but it can also improve your skin barrier so much-needed hydration doesn’t slip out while also increasing surface lipid levels. “The medium-chain fatty acids are great for creating a barrier to the skin,” says Dr. Awadalla. This is especially beneficial for anyone who suffers from atopic dermatitis, which happens when there is damage to the skin barrier.

It can reduce swelling and inflammation.

Unfortunately chronic inflammation is a harsh reality for anyone suffering from a variety of skin conditions, (including psoriasis, contact dermatitis, and eczema). Reaching for coconut oil can provide soothing relief, thanks to the anti-inflammatory properties found in the nourishing oi.

It’s antibacterial.

Thanks to its composition and the presence of fatty acids (which includes lauric acid), coconut oil also contains antimicrobial properties, which means it keeps bacteria and infection away.

It’s also worth noting that coconut oil is solid at room temperature and turns to liquid at warmer temperatures.

It has the same level of moisture as my coconut bb cream but instead of it being medium coverage which is the coverage of my Coconut BB Cream, it is full coverage like my mango bb balm. Apply a few drops of my Raspberry Elixir to clean skin and massage in. Let it absorb for a few minutes, then apply this BB Balm with the Smooth Things Over Brush or clean finger tips. Follow with Bio-Foundation if extra coverage and mattifying are needed.
