I know that sometimes women with lighter complexions can be afraid that even a little colour is too much. I think if the makeup itself is healthy you should not need as much coverage but the colour we add to our cheeks, lips, and eyes, can illuminate a healthy look. We can get away with less colour in our twenties but as we get older we lose a little colour in our lips and cheeks. Bringing back this colour does not take any kind of surgical procedure. Exercise helps bring back that healthy flush. Also eating well, staying hydrated, adequate rest, and making sure your skin can breathe all play a part.

As a makeup artist I have found that the less ‘perfect’ the colour looks on your lips and cheeks, the better. Think of it as finger painting for adults. Using creams and the warmth of fingertips gives natural pigments more of glow-from-within look on the skin and the technique is effortless and quite fun. So save the brushes for details and your powders with this makeup look. Colour placement does not have to be perfect, just pretty and well blended.
