benefits

MELATONIN is a compound in our body that helps to regulate sleep as well as other physiological rhythms in our body. Known as the body’s most efficient free-radical scavenger with an impressive ability to control oxidative damage, melatonin has powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and immune properties. These properties function as brain, heart, neurological, cognitive and cancer protection through the reduction of trauma from brain injury; preventing heart muscle damage; neuroprotection; increasing cognitive functioning; and offering cancer support and reducing the toxic effects of chemotherapy.

5-HTP for sleep is used to regulate the levels of Serotonin and Melatonin in the brain. Increasing levels of these neurotransmitters has been associated with improved ability to induce sleep as well as more restful, deeper sleep throughout the night.

ashwagandha’s ’s effects may stem from its content of triethylene glycol, a compound shown to induce sleep. It is also rich in withanolides, substances that appear to influence the body’s ability to cope with stress — and stress is known to have negative effects on sleep quality and to increase daytime sleepiness.

Anxiety is a part of life, and everyone will feel it at some point. What you don’t want is anxiety every single day for a long period of time. Ashwagandha works to rebuild the body’s reserves so that the body can sedate itself naturally. Stress-related exhaustion and adrenal burnout after the body has been under pressure for too long. This can have a positive impact on mood, energy levels and stress levels. With increased energy levels and better sleep, this can have the knock-on effect of increasing feelings of calm.

Passionflower may help reduce the effects of menopause, including hot flashes and depression. Passion flower may be helpful in reducing anxiety and has long been known as a folk remedy. It’s believed that certain compounds found in passion flower may interact with some receptors in the brain provoking relaxation. Because passion increases GABA, the activity of some brain cells that may be causing anxiety is lowered and makes you feel more relaxed. Studies suggest that passion flower extracts may even have mild anti-inflammatory. Passion flower, combined with valerian root, may be one of the best combinations to help with insomnia and could be ideal, if you seem to have trouble turning off the brain at night, by calming the cells within it.

Chamomile flower is perhaps the most recommended natural sleep aid around. Anxiety and insomnia go hand in hand. Your racing, unwanted thoughts bring with it a night of restlessness. Chamomile before bed will help calm your mind long enough that you can drift off to sleep.

Hops works to enhance GABA levels in the brain. Research also indicates that the sedative effects of hops may come from its ability to lower body temperature. Lowering body temperature helps to bring about drowsiness and is an important part of the body’s sleep process.

Valerian primarily functions as an anxiolytic. Anxiolytics relieve anxiety and have calming, sedative effects. How does valerian lower anxiety and promote relaxation? One way, it appears, is by increasing levels of GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) in the brain. GABA is a chemical that our brains make naturally. GABA is what’s known as an “inhibitory neurotransmitter”—it quiets the activity of the neurons of the central nervous system, which helps lower anxiety and boost feelings of relaxation and calm. GABA is an important neurochemical for sleep. Healthy levels of GABA promote and protect sound and restful sleep, and help ensure we spend the right amount of time in slow-wave sleep and REM sleep, the two deepest and most mentally and physically restorative sleep stages.

Jujube is densely packed with nutrients and has been used for centuries in traditional medicine, as a natural remedy to treat insomnia, anxiety, gastrointestinal problems, and pain. Jujube is a natural sedative. Two types of phytochemicals in jujube, saponins and flavonoids, trigger changes to neurotransmitters, including GABA and serotonin, which can make it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep. At least one of the saponins in jujube, jujuboside A, helps to quiet activity in the hippocampus region of the brain. And jujube contains a flavonoid compound, spinosin, which appears to trigger sleepiness through its effects on serotonin.

tips for best results

Suggested Use: Apply one patch to clean, dry skin approximately four hours before bedtime. Don’t continually wear patches in the same place. Apply one patch to arms, back, stomach, and thighs. Try to prevent patch from becoming wet. Remove patch upon waking. Do not re-use patches. You may find that application of one or two patches a week is enough to replenish your body’s melatonin stores and help you return to a healthy sleep schedule. It is best to consult your physician before using this product if you are taking any medications or are under a physician’s care for a medical condition. This product is latex-free, soy-free, dairy-free, and gluten free.
Storage: Store patches in aluminum packaging at room temperature away from excessive heat and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom.

why a patch

What happens when you swallow your supplements:

When you swallow a dietary supplement pill, it travels to your stomach, where the pill is immediately introduced to a powerful mix of digestive acids. Depending on what other foods you’ve eaten, the supplements in you stomach remain there for up to 4 hours as part of the normal digestive process. During this process the supplements in the stomach continue to be degraded by powerful digestive stomach acids.

After approximately 4 hours, the remaining supplements’ nutrient value starts its journey into the small intestinal tract where it will be absorbed into the bloodstream and delivered throughout the body. Studies have shown that on the average, as little as 2% of the original dietary supplement taken survives the digestive process and is absorbed by the body, dramatically reducing the dosage originally taken and its resulting effectiveness.

With a transdermal patch:
As soon as a patch is applied to the skin, body-heat activates the supplement formula and the nutrients begin to transit through the skin into the small blood vessels called capillaries that are plentiful under the skin. This is direct delivery of nutrients to the bloodstream or what is called Transdermal Delivery because nutrients are absorbed directly through pores in the Derma (skin).

Because the nutrient delivery process is done over a period of many hours while a patch is worn, we call this ‘Time-Release Delivery’.

-Maximum Dosage Absorbtion – Patches allow you to absorb up to 10 times the dosage that comparable orally taken supplements deliver.
-Patches release nutritional supplement ingredients directly into the bloodstream, bypassng the harsh acidic environment of the stomach and digestive tract that destroys most of the original nutrient value of supplements taken orally.
-Patches deliver their nutritional supplement load directly to the bloodstream the moment a patch is applied to the skin, versus up to 4 hours with supplements taken orally that must pass through the stomach and digestive system.
-Incredible convenience – there is nothing easier than applying a patch before bedtime or in the morning after showering, instead of having to remember to take multiple pills day after day.
